TEETHING

Your child’s first teeth (milk teeth) begin to break through the gums (erupt) around months of age.

All of the 20 milk teeth should come in between months and years

Child will lose milk teeth between 6 years and 11 years

The 1st permanent teeth (MOLARS) erupt behind milk teeth at about age .

Children's Dentistry

It is possible to protect the newly erupted permanent molar teeth with PIT & FISSURE SEALANTS in order to prevent cavity formation this only requires a single sitting and is totally painless. We, at SuperTooth, believing in early detection and prevention of cavities

CARING FOR YOUR CHILD’S TEETH AND GUMS

GENTLY CLEAN YOUR BABY’S GUMS WITH A SOFT COTTON CLOTH. Start this a few days after birth until the first teeth come in, around months of age.

Parents and caregivers don’t share spoons, forks and other utensils with babies. The ‘saliva’ you leave on the utensils contain bacteria that can cause tooth cavities. Kissing can also transfer bacteria. Keeping your own teeth and gums healthy reduces the risk of transferring tooth decay (cavities) bacteria to your child.

Use a fluoride tooth paste but not swallow it.

Minimize foods high in sugar and sticky foods.

Do not give your child mouthwash that contains alcohol.

Keep your child away from cigarette smoke (second-hand smoke).

If your child sucks his /her fingers or thumb, help them stop it. If the child can’t stop we at SuperTooth, can give them habit-breaking appliances, easy to wear.

BRUSHING AND FLOSSING

Mothers/fathers should clean their child’s first teeth with a soft toothbrush and a fluoride toothpaste. Under years, a rice-size amount of toothpaste is sufficient. More than years, a pea-size amount is enough.

Start flossing your child’s teeth as soon as they touch each other.

Your child can learn how to brush his/her own teeth at about years of age, morning and night. Parent supervision is required upto years of age.
